That is not surprising. It looks like it is getting warm in the high country and there is still a ton of snow. There could be a lot of flooding this summer.

I am glad I don't have campground reservations in North Pines campground this week.

Preston,
Thanks for the heads up. I'm headed to the east side this week. Still amazing amounts of snow. Best Regards.

Michael, let us know what is open, what isn't and how much snow is around. I am most curious about conditions.

Thanks

I just got back from 4 days in the valley. Camped in upper pines last tues, weds and thurs nights. I have never seen the water so high, the trail from the Swinging Bridge bus stop to the bridge was flooded, we had to wade up to our knees to get from the bridge back to the bus at 5pm. I heard the next day the bridge was inundated and had to be closed. We saw many sites in housekeeping camp flooded as well as several in Upper Pines, probably more were flooded later in the week as the water rose.

It was an amazing experience, as I have not been to the valley in spring in probably nearly 10 years. We went to the top of Sentinel Dome the night before the full moon, walked the valley floor the next day, having to use the road much of the way due to the west end loop being flooded, hiked the mist trail, getting completely drenched on the first half, then on to the top of Nevada Fall and on the last day visited Glacier Point. I can't wait to go back! Have a trip to the high country planned for next month.
