Hi Everyone -
Based on the responses to my thread below and the private emails sent to me about this topic, I think it is worth trying to keep the discussions going. One of the discussions at the Spring Fling in Moab centered on making this forum more active and I think that discussions are one way we can do that.
I will take responsibility for posting a topic every other Monday and I will rotate the types of topics to engage the varying interests of RMNP members. To help get us started, I would appreciate some topic suggestions in the basic categories below. If you have a topic idea, can you post it below or email it directly to me?
-The art and creative side of photography
-The technical craft of photography
-Insights and experiences
-Locations and trip-planning
We can keep the conversations informal, but I would suggest a few agreements:
-Focus on the discussion part, not just posting your views
-Maintain respect and civility
-Stay focused on the topic at hand and photography in general.
Please share potential topics and any other ideas below!
Thank you!

Hi Sarah,
They are all great topics. I've always wondered what is the goal of the photographer after they click the shutter. Obviously, first get the best shot you can. After that, do they just want to look at their image on their monitor or in an 8x10 frame or go really big. If they do want to go big what is their workflow to get there? If they want to keep it small does their flow change? I guess this falls under "The technical craft of photography" and I would be very interested to see what "secrets" people are using. Under that same banner I also wonder how did you get that great shot. There is a wealth of information out there with the caliber of photographers on this forum. Looking forward to reading and learning what people have to say.
Locations and trip planning is also very interesting (both past and future trips).
