Returned last week from Bighorn Canyon which is located on the border of Wyoming and Montana. This is home to the Pryor Mountain wild horse population. Its been on my wish list for several years and I finally got off my butt and made it happen. Out of seven days I only had a day or so of acceptable light. We ran into landslides, rain, snow, flooding and did I mention a tornado as we passed Wheatland.
Due to conditions we were not able to get into the high country but we were fortunate enough to find a few bands in the canyon areas. The Bighorn Canyon recreational Area was magnificant and we enjoyed the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody during the rainy days.
I'll just post a few of the images and try not to get carried away.
Thanks for looking.
Wow! Very cool!! I like the first and last ones very much. How fortunate you were to see the wild horses. We have them around here near the Book Cliffs but we haven't been out "stalking" them much yet. This just might inspire me.

I really enjoyed this series, Don.
Regardless of light conditions, I'm sure you had a great time being here. I lived in Sheridan for a time and this brought back some fine memories.
