Haven't been able to shoot in a long time and decided to get out of the rut so she who must be obeyed and myself took a quick trip up to MO tonight to Greer Spring just outside Alton. The trail/hike was easy peasy and I had the spot to myself. I did discover it is more of a morning spot than an evening one but I came away with a couple. The volume of water is impressive, it is cold, and there is constant mist rising as it is so hot right now.
Bob, I really like the way the log leads you into the shot and that mist is really good. Greer Spring and the Eleven Point River are one of my favorite areas. Thanks for sharing.
Bob,
This photo has
1) great leading line with the oblique downed tree;
2) great contrast, esp. the bark on the trees
3) nice water presentation with not too much blur and some detail in the creek bottom
4) good ambiance augmented by the mist
Good stuff...

Thanks everyone...I actually enjoyed being there way more than working the scene.the only thing I do not like is the dead branch hanging down but I am not good enough to clone/patch that out. And I sure couldn't remove it by hand......

Like that constant mist. Adds character.

Bob, I really like this image, from the light right through to the moody mist. Well seen and done.
Really nice, Bob, great light you had. Yeah, that spring water in Missouri is some of the coldest I've ever been in. Great place to think about going this time of year though !! The creeks around here are pretty much dry.
