Jennifer is off to visit her niece and nephews in California for Easter, so I'm bach'n it for a week. I'm taking Friday and Monday off, but have no idea what I'm doing. I haven't had much time at home since New Year's, so veggin' out with some Fat Tire and grill fixins sounds good. But I'm also tempted to head down to Moab or Great Sand Dunes. I may just sleep in and see what I feel like when I wake up. Kind of a nice feeling to have absolutely nothing planned and all kinds of options!

So, what is everyone else doing?

I'm heading back to the Heartland (Ohio) to spend some time with my folks. I suspect that my photographic opportunities will be limited to taking family snapshots of the neices and nephews - while not technically nature photography, I feel certain that they could be classified as wildlife.

I'm taking a photo class on Saturday and I am thinking about photographing the Flatirons on Sunday morning.

Hmm, no Nextel Cup race on Sunday. Might have to sneak away for a hike while the wife's not paying attention. As for Saturday, time to mow the lawn. Oh yeah, and there's a Busch series race on TV.

I decided to extend the weekend by 10 days and head to Texas and Louisiana. Heron and Spoonbill rookeries are calling. If I have some luck I hope to catch a warbler fall out.

We're headed to San Diego for the weekend (cousin's wedding) - staying on the harbor - hopefully get to take some pics besides family...

Got the whole Filipino family (>30-40) coming over for Easter on Sunday. Should be a great opportunity to shoot with the new 5D during the easter egg hunt!

I dunno what I'm Gonna do Sunday early, but I want to get out and about as it has been a tradition for me to go out into the wilderness every Easter Sunday.

The usual stuff. Taking my daughter for a hike around the Flatirons on Saturday morning. Then working on the yard and painting some cabinets for the rest of the weekend.

I've got a 10-day weekend coming up. First real outing of the year. I've been a slug all winter. Going to do a loop around the desert SW into some extremely remote areas with the hopes of finding some "new" stuff to shoot.

I'm going up to Rocky Mountain Saturday morning to see if Sprague Lake has thawed out much yet.

I took last Monday off and did a quick 3-day trip to Monument Valley

I see fuel prices aren't affecting people much.
I might try to sneak away for some bird pics on the river and local ponds.

I'm thinking my Dunes abstracts are a bit limited... Heading out either Friday night or Saturday morning to increase the collection.

I've been watching NASCAR to brush up on my drafting skills; every extra MPG helps!

I think I get 125 miles of free towing 3 times a year with AAA+. That should save 375 miles of not running the engine on the trip.

Tony B - Was up to Sprague last weekend watching Mallard drakes protecting their territory; the lake is probably thawing nicely this week, and was thawed in places last weekend - maybe 20-30' patches. You should have some nice shooting up there this weekend. Enjoy!

I envy all you heading out on roadies and such...Anybody need a gear sherpa?

I guess right now it looks like I'll be:

4/14: Entertaining some of the wife's friends from northern Utah with a tour of the Springs and burning some red meat on the grill.
4/15: The day looks to be open right now...maybe head over to GoG or over to Mueller. That evening heading to the Deco Lounge for some drinks before they close down for a while for the renovations.
4/16: Gonna brew a batch of Hefe in the morning/early afternoon, then, hopefully make it down to FAC Modern downtown for the Annie Liebovitz exhibit.

Everybody have fun.

Not too much here. Going for that hike with Brent M. tomorrow AM, then working a little more on cleaning the garage!! Woohoo! Sunday is Easter stuff with the in-laws. Very holiday oriented folks, there will be colored eggs and way too much candy!!! DOH! Everyone have a great one!

Rick, I really think you need to just stay home and make me a whole bunch of your famous beef jerky!!! I think that would give you much more satisfaction than going out to play anywhere!! HA!

Tonight I'm going to a pencil drawing exhibit by Lyle Iron Horn at Kaladi Brothers - he's the foster son-in-law of one of my best friends and is trying to help support his wife and infant daughter while he's incarcerated by selling his artwork, and my friend arranged this gig.

Tomorrow I might hike Red Rocks. Maybe. We'll see. I have errands to run.

Sunday I'm having brunch with my aunt and her family.

I am hoping to get out on Sunday, it has been too long since I have been out with the camera.

Back from Los Alamos this weekend. House is selling and Pagosa Springs house is under contract. It seems everything is in order...time to play. I will take my camera with us. Ooops sorry guys...I used to hike. :jump:
