Here's a partial list of birds seen and photographed along the east end of the Denali Highway, Paxson to Maclaren River, last weekend:

Horned Lark
Smith's Longspur
Arctic Warbler
Yellow Warbler
White-crowned Sparrow
Merlin
Say's Phoebe
Eurasian Widgeon
Wilson's Warbler
Yellow Warbler
Orange-crowned Warbler
Fox Sparrow
Whimbrel

Spectacular geology. And the alpine tundra flowers were in full bloom, too. Great weather, too. If you haven't been along the east half of the road, you really should consider it.

That's quite a list. I'm not a birder, but I suspect I've seen some of those warblers when I've gone across there. I know I've tried to get decent pictures of some birds across there and not been successful. You need some serious glass for them.... I do better with landscapes.
