Storm Cell Over Kansas
Last Monday night, 20Jun11, a line the T-storms moved across Kansas. Nebraska got hit fairly hard but Kansas escaped and got some welcome moisture.
Taken 3 miles NE of a small town west of Topeka called Silver Lake.
Neat curve in the cloud.
Enjoy.

Super light and an impressive storm cloud. Well captured.

Another view of the squall line. Angus cattle seem unconcerned although some die from lightning strikes.

Impressive, Larry. I like the green fields and unobstructed view of the storm.

Great clouds!

Really like that first one. The second one is nice too. Can you bring up just a bit more detail in the cattle? If you can I think it pops more.

Darren,
I went and lightened and contrasted the foreground and I do think it make it "pop" more.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm always learning from betters.

I'm having trouble picking a color space for web.

I've tried several sRGB's and I always have to increase the saturation from the original workup. Even then it doesn't always show up as I would like.

I'm using Nikon Capture NX2 and they have a host of color spaces. sRGB and bruceRGB seem to be my favorites now. I've not tried a lot of the others.

Suggestions???

These shots are beautiful, Larry! Impressive storm clouds for sure.

I've never used Nikon's Capture software, but have always been pleased with the sRGB in photoshop.
