Yellowstone in Spring
Spent saturday in Hayden Valley. Everything is a bright green color and very wet from all the the moisture this year, some places in the area 300 percent above normal. There are still snowbanks along the roadsides. Lamar Valley was shut down due to flooding. The buffalo are calving and the bears are feeding on carcasses in Hayden Valley. This is my favorite time of the year for Yellowstone.

Update below.

Great image. Really like the colors and cloud reflections. Its also one of my favorite times in YNP. I heard today that the road was washed out in Lamar. Its been one wild Spring this year.

Beautiful light and color. Like the color in the clouds.

Wow, this is fantastic! Looks absolutely primordial. I half expect to see a mastodon shuffling through the scene.

Dean, the comp on this simply rocks! LOVE it! Also like the processing job you did on it. Thanks for sharing this one :toast:

This is simply gorgeous, Dean! I love the two separate watercourses inhabiting that small parcel. Great light and color, too!
So refreshing to see non-iconic images from Yellowstone.

I really like this composition. It seems like a unique perspective and is quite artistic.

This is really beautiful Dean!

Nice meandering, and the dark cloud seems to force the view down to the river.

This is a beauty, Dean. To me though, the dark cloud is a little too heavy. As Doug mentioned, it "forces" my eye down to the river. I think I would prefer to be "nudged". A matter of personal taste perhaps. Still, it's a beauty.

Here's one with a brighter sky. A little less dramatic. What do you guys think?

Doug has a good eye. I like the repost much better, Dean.

Here's another vote for the 2nd, Dean.

Call me crazy, well, others have  , but I like the first. Beautiful colors and light, and I like the increased drama in that first one. Excellent use of lines.
