Is anyone using a right angle finder and,if so, which one and are there any problems in using one? It would be nice to get off the ground when shooting those low lying subjects.....

I use one occasionally. It's a Nikon for the D2x. I understand that some of the cheaper ones on eBay do very well too. The view isn't quite as nice (IMO) as looking directly through the viewfinder, but it is certainly more convenient that laying in the dirt/sand/mud/water.

I use one regularly when the angle to look through the viewfinder is not convenient. Mine is an old Minolta right-angle finder which fits perfectly on my Canon bodies. Wouldn't leave home without it!
I use one frequently with my SONYa900. Not only does it serve the convenience of being able to focus flat on the ground but it offers a magnifier that is quite useful when shooting macro where acute focus is desired. A useful tool.
Mark: I have the Minolta version and use it quite a bit. Besides the convenience of allowing a comfortable viewing angle it also has a 2x magnifier feature to help with ultra fine focus. It fits perfectly on my Sony DSLRs. >=)))>
I use a chinese Seagull brand right angle finder purchased on eBay. I use it just occasionally but it is very useful when I do, both for the convenient angle and the 2x ability for better focusing. I had read good things about it on the web from other users. I haven't compared it with the Nikon version but there is nothing about it that makes me wish I had bought a "better" one. For the occasional use I give it I couldn't justify the much higher price of the brand name finders.
