'We're so sorry, Uncle Albert."
"But the kettle's on the boil and we're so easily called away."
Mucho apologies for being absent so much lately. Too much work, not enough play. I went shooting at Red Rock Lake yesterday, and it was the first time I have shot in 6 weeks. I don't even have much time to check the posts of the forum, but try to do so as often as possible. What I have seen is some fine stuff from all of you! Life is demanding changes from me, so I will just try to muddle through for now.

Here are some shots from Red Rock, and just for info, the road to the Long Lake and Mitchell Lake parking lots is closed on the back side of Brainard due to snow still in the parking lots. They say they hope to open them in 2 weeks. No wildflowers at Long except for some Marsh Marigolds the attendant said, and Red Rock was like glass, so I just stayed and shot there. I was not able to get up early, and had to just shoot with the light I had. Oh well, it was just really great to be able to get out!

Comments and critiques always welcome and thanks for looking,

Morris

#10 And there were some Shooting Stars near the parking on the west side. This is the last one. Sorry so many, but I guess it averages out.

I really like your study of rocks and their reflections. #9 is my favorite.
Glad to see you back on the forum. :wavey:

#4, 6, 9, 10 for me. I t kept getting better the further i viewed. I think 9 is the best reflection shot. Looks to be some blue fringing on the petals in 10

My vote is for #4, #6, #9 & #10. The close-up reflections with the lilly pads are really nice.

I haven't been able to shoot as much as I'd like either, due to sheer exhaustion from my new job. Glad to see you made it out this long weekend and got some great shots.

Geez, don't apologize for posting so many photos, these are great! The first one doesn't do anything for me, but every...single...other...ONE is fabulous! Really like the shooting star portrait, and I stopped counting and memorizing image numbers when it was clear that I'd be picking all but maybe one as my fave. BTW, I'm pretty sure #8 was posted upside-down.

6, 7, and 9 .....I love that pano!

Morris is back! Some great shots here, but that pano is just above the top sweet.

Morris- Love #6 - reminds me of the Canadian Rockies from last year in June. Good variety of shots- you really worked the area well which one should do!

I agree with Koveh, love the pano Morris.

Morris, these are great. Especially liked 4 & 6. The shooting star is nice as well. I finally got out in the woods this weekend and tried to take some columbine shots but didn't come away with anything I like. Your's has a simple elegance to it that I was not able to capture.

These are fabulous Morris. I love 4, 6, and 9. Wonderful!

Like Todd, I gave up trying to pick a favorite, and find #1 to be the least interesting image in the series.
But the rest are simply beautiful!
You have a masterful eye for choosing such fine compositions, Morris. You took maximum advantage of the light that you had here.

A great set. I especially like the tighter, more intimate shots of the reflected rocks in the pond.

Thanks so much for the comments everyone. :wavey:
Doug, you are right there is a touch of fringing here. Maybe a touch too much sharpening for the web or compression. There isn't any in the raw or tiff, so it must be the prep work to post. Thanks for the good eye!

Morris I was away when you posted these so I have not had a chance to comment. These are beautiful. I particularly like #9 and that shooting star is a killer. Those little buggers are hard to shoot and get the right. You nailed it.

Morris, #1,2 and 4 are my favorite. I think I like the horizontal version just a bit more than the vertical. And I love that zoom shot showing beautiful dof. As usual great work.
