Crescent moonset (new version added)
I headed out to the Garden of the Gods a few nights ago for some sunset shots, but got there too late. On my way out, I saw another opportunity, and took advantage of it. Only work done on it was some noise reduction, cropping and a slight contrast boost.

I really LOVE this comp Bob! It's pretty blah as is. I'd do a Mumaw on it and change the white balance to tungsten in RAW...or put a blue photo filter on it in PS and crank up the density. This just needs a minor amount of tweaking to really make it pop!

Killer shot, Bob! :toast:

Thanks for the suggestions, Pam...I'll give them a try (I knew it needed something!).
Thanks, Todd!

I took Pams suggestions (at least I think this is what she meant!) and made some changes. I like it! Opinions: Better? Worse? Neither?

Better! Still killer!

Oh yeah! That first one was good, but the repost is excellent!

The second is definitely a much better looking sky!

Like the second one much better.

I really like that 2nd one!

Definitely a vote for the second version with the altered sky color. Seems to be a thin turquoise band in the moon's crescent now though.

Either way it's great. I like your redux best. Did you try it in B/W? That might be nice too.

Great shot Bob, and Pam's suggestion was a good one.
Who cares about sunset when you can get killer images like this one?

Love the repost! I like the little "bump" in the center of the crescent as the sunlight spills across a lunar highlight.

Super image Bob :toast:

Thanks again, everyone!
Rod, I haven't tried it in B&W, but I should give that a try.

Very nice! Like the blue in the second image.
