I'm very slowly fiddling around with shots from our Utah excursion. We headed into Arches early one evening and were getting a sand-blasting from Mother Nature when I took this one. I thought "no way in hell my butt is going outside the truck in this crud" but there was a bit of drama going on in the distance...some pretty unearthly light as well. So I hung out the window and clicked away balancing on the frame. The wind was really whipping the foliage into a frenzy so I'm surprised it wasn't a total blur. This is a single image.
I think you've got all the elements there...the desolation and expanse of the desert, the drama in the sky, and the wind. Nice job, especially from inside the truck!
I love it, Pam! It says windswept desert from the foreground bush up to the trailing and twisting clouds.

Thanks so much everyone! I know it's kinda tight at the lower frame but I thought it was acceptable. We pulled into a turnout and the WA lens would've included the curb if I hadn't zoomed out a little bit. I also know my methods were not the best but the scene was so dramatic I had to give it a go from the truck. I actually think it would've been worse on a tripod because the wind was SO crazy. I *did* have hubby turn the truck engine off to cut vibration
