I was up at Chicago Creek(which is about halfway between Idaho Springs and Mt. Evans) this morning and if you like shooting wildflower intimates or portraits like I do, you will love Hells Hole trail. It has some great flowers every year about this time and this year is no exception. There are no expansive views of mountains or basins like in the southwestern part of the state, but the flowers are scattered among aspen stands and conifers.

You start out with Wild roses, Cow parsnip, Cranesbill, and Golden Banner right by the parking lot for the traihead. Then if you hike about a mile up the trail, you will find lots of Columbine, Paintbrush, Yellow Arnica, and more Golden Banner and Cranesbill.

Of course, Chicago Creek is running very nicely right now, too, if you like water shots.

And the great thing is it's only about an hour from Denver.

Hope this helps if you are looking for something to shoot.

Sorry, guys, I posted this as soon as I got back so someone could maybe plan to go there tomorrow. I took a lot of shots, so it'll be awhile.

Thanks for the update. Even without pictures, your observations and taking the time to post this report is in itself is even more valuable than the shots. Keep 'em coming.
