More Chatfield Birds
Spent another morning out at Chatfield. Had great light today with the sun peeking in and out of a thin layer of clouds.

This first was part of a series I captured of a Lark Sparrow with a grasshopper meal. I was surprised I actually managed to get the grasshopper's eyes in the shot

Another shot of the mal with the Vulcan green blood spilling from the grasshopper (I know it's kind of a gross Star Trek reference)

Bullock's Oriole (I cannot get close to this one at all and have been trying for weeks now! This is a pretty large crop)

Blue Grosbeak (this is another one I cannot get close to and is a large crop, but I think it holds up well and it is the first shot I have had the opportunity to even take of this species).

Man, i am so ready to pay you to take me birding, cause you are the only one who has me even remotely tempted to take avian photos

Each one gets better and better as I scroll down this page. What awesome clarity and color! I think my favorite has to be the oriole for how it pops out of its surroundings so brilliantly. Wow!

Nice photos Kurt. I really like #2 grasshopper and sparrow singing from the bottom of it's heart. Great catch!!
I'm glad you finally got a shot of the Oriole!

This is another beautiful collection! I really love number 4 since the bird stands out so well against the tree.

The oriole is my favorite because of its striking color against almost a monochrome background.

I completely agree with Stan's comments, Kurt! These are all professional caliber work, but I especially like the last two for their colorful plumage. Thanks so much for sharing these with with those of us who will never have this opportunity.
