Met up with fellow photographer Jim Talaric in the Aspen area earlier this week to explore some of the usual haunts and a few new ones. Too early for wildflowers there, but the creeks and rivers were roaring with whitewater. Checked out the Maroon Bells late in the evening and early in the morning before Jim showed me the Cascades at the Grotto on Independence Pass. Then it was on to the Crystal Mill above Marble to see the Mill with the high water flow on the Crystal River. Finally, on the way back we stopped at Hayes Creek waterfall just off the highway south of Redstone. Here's one pic from the Cascades. If you want to see the rest, go to Here.
"Maroon Lake Outlet" is the epitome of summer images from this spot. Killer! I also like the "High Water at Crystal Mill" photo. Looks like you had a beautiful trip!
Nice stuff Rod...I have to agree the lake outlet shot is very unique and really like the comp on it.

The image from the outlet is certainly my pick also. I like the comp and that the fir trees are more prominent. I think the clear skies give the red rock in the lrc and the mtn more prominence in this image.
Nice set, Rod, and yeah, the "outlet" shot is pretty sweet...

Hi Rod - looks like a great trip! I really like Maroon Lake Outlet and Maroon Creek Whitewater (my favorite of the set - wonderful!). This is a really nice collection - great to finally see some summer images from Colorado.
