A few weeks ago I hiked up to Mirror Lake in what turned out to be a miserable trek. The last few miles were in soft snow, which combined with my heavy pack, made for an afternoon of tremendous fun climbing my way out of waist deep snow or just trying not to fall from the slick footing. Then when I got to the lake, it was still mostly frozen over. That ultimately turned out to be not such a bad thing as there was some interesting things happening in the thawing ice. Anyway, this was one of the last shots of the evening.
One of my favorite locations Bob. This looks great! I really love the color in the foreground ice.

Those are excellent, Bob! You can either go when all the snow is melted and take the same shots as everyone else who's been up there, or you can do what you did and come home with some truly fresh photos of a familiar place.
Wow those are crazy good! I do like this one the best, but hard to pick a fave out of those.

Bob - this is a beautiful collection! Wow. I really like the first one on your website. The ice and the cloud really make that one stand out for me. Even if the hike was not fun, it was well worth it to get these gems.

Great collection, Bob! Worth the effort and discomfort. I like the post here and the vertical b&w. The leading line of the thawed lake is perfect!
Glad to see you posting! I hope you are feeling well and will be out and about a lot this year!
Kudos to you for enduring the hike! But, wow, it was worth it, spectacular shots, love the icy reflections, my favorite was hard to pick but I think the vertical one with the reflection is simply mind blowing.
Your miserable sounding slog really paid off well, Bob. I really like this and 'Mirror of Ice'!
I'm glad someone else goes to all of this trouble to bring us such gorgeous views.
