These are just quick preview shots...jpgs, not processed except for size to give you an idea of what is around Crested Butte.

Looks like a beautifull place to be at the moment.

Oh man, outstanding! Looks like the bloom is in full swing. We leave Sunday for 10 days, a couple of which will be in Aspen and Crested Butte area. Your photos have me even more excited for the trip! :toast:

Just a question for information...generally how long do wildflowers peak in an area like Crested Butte? If a person waits three weeks, is it going to be too late?

Holy crap batman... I wish I could go but doing an art show in Copper this weekend. Hopefully it'll still be there next weekend.

Love the comp on your last post Jack, really beautiful with that squiggly river in the BG. My only nit is the overall blue cast which is standing out in a not good way in the central distant mountain. The FG lupines with the dew/rain drops are FANTASTIC!!!

Jack, thanks for sharing your shots. I'll be in Crested Butte this weekend for a few days....can't wait to get there. :jump:

I'm headed there tomorrow for a couple of days, driving red 4-runner with Thule carrier on top. Be sure and wave or say howdy!

Pam,

Jack is posting these for our information and to give us an overview of what the area looks like. I'm sure he'll work on the color casts later when he has a chance.

Mark, if you re-read his LAST picture post he says "You can critique this one"

Joe, I think if you wait 3 weeks you will miss it all. The sun will most likely bake them by then. You may have a better chance in Ouray area at that time.

Thanks, Jack for the info...

Heading up to CB after work on Friday for an overnighter. Probably will be somewhere along the Kebler Pass road. If I can jury rig some sort of shelter for the back of my truck I'll be driving a grey 92 Toyota pickup. If not, I'll be in a silver Dodge Nitro. Wave or stop by if you see me.

Pam,

Sure enough. My apologies for not reading closely enough after looking at the images...
