Captured tonight in Mayflower gulch. Flowers are still a aways off but I did manage to find this cluster of columbines. A slight gap in the low hanging storm clouds at sunset allowed for this incredible light. Definitely the most intense sunset I've ever seen, and enough ambient light to make exposing the foreground possible. These colors are untouched. Did some slight dodging on the foreground, but thats it as far as processing. Looked like the skies were on fire all over tonight... did anyone else get any sunset shots from tonight?
And for anyone who's curious, flowers are still a ways off up here, but like here, if you look hard enough you can find some. Snow is still melting off at a crazy rate.. I'd say by next week flowers should start really exploding up around Summit Cty.

The sunset looked ridiculous from my house, so I can only imagine how great it was up there. Nice work processing what could have been a tough exposure. Overall the image might be a little dark for some, but I think it probably fits what you saw. The colors in the clouds and on the peak are outstanding.

Spectacular. Love the foreground.
Like Paul, I watched this sunset from the Denver suburbs and hoped somebody would share their view from the mountains.
I tried to ignore the sunset as best I could since there was clearly something amazing about to happen and zero chance I'd be able to enjoy it much less photograph it. :P
Excellent shot, btw. I haven't explored that side of Mayflower yet but will considering this wonderful comp.
