I thought about cutting and pasting Todd's report because it's spot on. But I might as well add a little bit. Brush Creek near where the Pearl Pass road splits off is the best I've ever seen it. Lots of purple and yellow. Gothic is good for Lupines and there are some nice patches of Columbine just past the north town limit. Kebler is currently below average. Ohio Pass and Lake Irwin were a waste of time and gas. To use a cliche, there are places on the Cottonwood Pass Road above Taylor where the forest floor is "Carpeted" with Lupines. Also lots of Columbines that are still buds. Another week for them.
Bottom line, some areas are pretty spectacular now, other areas will be good in a week or two so if you didn't make it this week don't despair.
