Couldn't get out this weekend. Had to help my kid look for a car. So what else to do but process something I've already taken. Comments always appreciated.
I like the pano comp you have and the light is so nice. Excellent detail in the foreground and shadows. There looks like there is a slight halo along the ridgeline on my monitor, but that could just be my monitor. Wait for others to comment if they see it. Beauty of a shot.
A panorama (or pano. crop) was the perfect way to capture this scene! I see the halo that Morris is referring to...hopefully it's just a resizing/sharpening artifact. May also be the natural light on that faraway ridge, but I would fix it to lessen the distraction.

Thanks for the input everybody. I checked the raw file and the halo looks like it's a combination of haze and the fact that the far horizon is in shadow. I should be able to mitigate it with a little more post processing.
On the sharpening I am still working on the right sharpening for this camera, a D3X. The D200 that I still have seemed much more straight forward to apply sharpening. I have been using a recommendation I got here, for posting here, to shrink the image to around 2000 pixels or slightly less, apply filter->sharpen once or maybe twice and then shrink to around 700 pixels. It usually still looks soft to me when I post it but for each successive filter->sharpen the picture looks lighter. Anyway here's a crop of the full sized shot and it almost looks too sharp!
