My wife and I went to the Snowy Range yesterday for our annual wildflower fix. If anyone is planning to go I would suggest they hold off for at least another week or so. Many of the side roads and trails were still drifted in and the meadows still had drifts of snow. The road into Mirror lake was not plowed and few flowers existed along the roadways. Some meadows were flowered out on top before desending to Mirror lake. Mostly blues and yellows but not all varities. Columbines were few and far between. The beetle kill also progressed up higher than last year.
However not all was lost. We managed to get a good slice of wild berry pie as we passed back through town.
