What is DRO (Dynamic Range Optimizer). I am using a Canon 60D and I searched the menu but could not find it there. Could someone please tell me what it is termed in Canon ? I need to take some picture turing the DRO Off.

A reply will be much appriciated.

The DRO is called the Auto Lighting Optimizer, for Canon Products.

Based on the web report posted by Mark, this looks like a feature that would be used when you're shooting JPGs. If you shoot raw you can make this kind of adjustment on an as needed basis using the fill light and recovery sliders in Adobe Camera Raw for Lightroom or PhotoShop. I'm sure any other raw processor has similar options for compressing the dynamic range.
