Red
With temps in the high 90's and heat index in the 110 range, it was time to peruse old shots. This was taken at Brookgreen Estates, SC last year.

50D, 1/250 @ f11, iso 400, 18-270 @ 168. A very bright sky in mid-morning.

And Darren, your forum photo is really out of place with the weather right now, with that heavy coat and snow!

Merle, the flowers are lovely. But I still thought of heat when I saw them with all that RED!

Nice work Merle. You've handled the reds very well. It's easy to over saturate red. Have a great weekend.

Thanks all for your comments. Darren, I know what you mean about hot. We have been too hot to go fishing for over two weeks now. And Dottie, The red does look too hot for the season - but I think "The devil made me post it".

Hey Wayne, I know the "Old Muddy" has been high around us but it never reached the predicted levels of the '93 floods. We are quite a ways from the river and don't have to worry about the high water. I just wish some was coming down from the sky and not down river from the north. We're in St Louis this weekend watching the grandkids and it was 103 this afternoon. It does cool down at night though. It was only 82 at 5am in Columbia this morning.

take care and stay cool :wavey:
