Loch Vale Sunset
I hiked into Loch Vale in RMNP last evening and pretty much had the place to myself. I was hoping for a better sunset, but the only clouds around were of mosquitos. I grabbed a few shots and bailed.

I'm torn about leaving the tree trunk in the LR corner - but then part of me says it adds context to the roots snaking towards the water. I'm interested in other thoughts on this, or any other aspect of the image.

Can you post a larger version? You're allowed 800 px on the long edge of the image.

John, Aperture was telling me the image was 720x470 - but it occasionally lies to me. Here's an export at 800x533 from PS.

A beautiful scene with an interesting composition. You're right...including the trunk does add needed context for the roots.
Part of me would like to see a stock reflection image, but it wouldn't have been as interesting.
My only real nit is the HDR treatment is a bit strong, but that's a matter of taste, for sure. You did a fine job of capturing this one!

Very cool scene! I agree also about leaving the tree in the scene

Thanks John and Kurt for taking the time to view and comment! I'll dial back the HDR processing a bit and see if I can eliminate the halos above the mountains.
