About the photo:
I was drawn to this composition because of the vibrant green color as well as the diagonal lines repeated both in the trees and along the hillside on the left hand side of the frame.
Processing & Specs:
D700
100 mm focal length
ISO 200, f16 1/10 sec.
Minimal processing was applied to this image including a smart sharpening layer, TK's smart glow filter with an opacity of 80% and the default gaussian blur radius of 35. I also added a vignette primarily to darken the background trees in the upper left and right hand corners.
Overall, I am satisfied with the end result, but I know that I have a lot to learn from you guys so let me have it--honest critiques on anything from composition to processing are welcome.
Also, I hope that you guys don't mind if this Texan participates in the RMNP forum.
Hi Brian
I believe you were on the shore of Maroon Lake probably there to photograph a couple of Mountains with the word bells in their name The processing is spot on, and I can see what you were after on the comp. My eye keeps pulling two different square crops out of this with the most pleasing having the large conifer on the left side.
I agree with Steve. As soon as I looked at it I thought I recognized it. Maybe I'm wrong but anywho, it's a very nice shot with great color! It makes me want to pitch a tent (or park my camper).

I was thinking the same thing as the others, but what great greens! I really like your comp here as I seen lines driving my eye to the center from every corner.
You guys are too good!! I guess that I will have to try harder to stump you next time.
I definitely enjoyed the cooler weather but now it's back to the 100 degree temps (a record 28 days over 100 in Amarillo already with more in the forecast) and the day job. Oh well, I'm already thinking about taking a fall colors trip.
Thanks to everyone who has commented so far as I appreciate the feedback. I may be a Texan but I am an RMNP'er at heart.
