Modern or ancient?
I was walking along the Rio Grande in SW Colorado last weekend and saw this. I'm wondering if these could possibly be petroglyphs of an ancient nature, or of a beer fueled modern one? I guess they could be beer fueled of an ancient nature for that matter  Any thoughts?

If it doesn't say OZZY RULES!, I'd say they're ancient. Cool find, Pam!

Todd, I believe that is Anasazi for "Rockin' like Dokken".

My money is on real. Very cool.

Pam, these look a lot like the glyphs at 3 Rivers Petroglyph site in New Mexico.

Looks just like what Rod and I saw at 3 Rivers last fall.

What a cool find, Pam! I would think ancient as well, but it looks like they had a little more trouble carving on granite(?).

Another vote for ancient. I don't think today's vandals have the patience it would take to create this.

I'd say ancient with little hesitation. There are glyphs like these all throughout the Rio Grande valley. These aren't the most distinct, but you can tell they were pecked in pointillist-fashion with substantial effort. Modern vandals usually just make a few scratches and give up once they realize that chipping a solid petroglyph is actually work. Nice find!
