Indian Point
Saturday was a rainy day in northern Arizona, so I joined fellow NPNer Shane McDermott for a short hike to Indian Point overlooking Sedona. The sun shone for about 30 minutes through a hole in the cloud layer, enough time to have sonme light on the red racks. Unfortunately, the western horizon was blocked with clouds preventing a sunset.

Feel free to offer nits and suggestions. Another image to be posted in the ESS/Landscape gallery.

Really like the vert. crop. Nice sky and color in the rocks.

Wow!
You sure had some fine light and scenery to work with here, Doug. These are all excellent compositions, with a nice light touch on the saturation. #'s 1, 3 & 4 are the pick of the litter for me. Love the telephoto perspective of #4!
My only nit s a lack of contrast in #1, but the one you posted in the 'Landscape' forum trumps #1 handily, so it's a moot point.

Are you enjoying shooting with the newest member of the Az. Highways team?

I love #1--great mix of elements! Nice set. :wavey:

I like the comp on ESS a little better than #1 but not by much. And #4 is resonating with me in a BIG way. The colors are superb and the textures palpable. :toast:

Yet another place on my "must see" list for the September trip to Sedona. I like #1 a lot but John is right, a little more snap would be nice. Wonder how this place looks at sunset.

Doug, I liked them all, but #4 really held my eye. Great work!

Another fan of #1. The agave (?) really adds a nice touch.

Doug, this is an EXCELLENT group of shots for my tastes. Think I like the first and the last ones best.

#1 all the way for me. I an feel the heat and the pointed plants ( I'm a real botanist as you can see) in the forground really give it a desert feel for me.

Thank you for the feedback. Does #4 seem to have a slight blue cast? I would like to go back to Indian Point some evening again soon, but it may be difficult to beat the light in the ESS image.
