Rock Island at Mowich
Spent a few hours at Mowich last night checking out the conditions and found lots of large drifts and the trails mostly snowbound as expected. Gotta wonder if the wildflowers will peak before the first snowfall in Spray Park this year. Hung around until the sun was well down and the surface had calmed enough to get a couple shots of the rock island.
Nik Color Efex "Glamour Glow" filter applied. Am I correct in thinking this is Nik's version of the "Orton Effect"?
Thanks for looking.

I dont think it looks like Orton, but I like the look. The water colors and reflection are sweet.

Not an Orton effect, Bruce, but beautiful capture and processing, just the same. Love the pattern of reflections as the backdrop to the island in this nicely composed and exposed image.

The texture and color of the water reflections are a big attraction for me. I love the little island; it has a lot of charm. I'm conflicted about the foreground trees on the left; you might play with cropping them off and see what your think (if you haven't already).

Hi Bruce, The technicals for this image are spot on! I love the smoothness of the water and the rich colors. I'm not so pleased by the composition. I can "see" what you were going for here but I don't see an even flow through the image. Maybe move the camera position several feet to the left to better isolate the island?

Oh darn ya gotta go back to this gorgeous spot in MRNP!!

Thanks for the comments.
Rick-No could do. further to the left took me off the snowbank I was perched upon and brought some big cedar bows into the frame right in front of me.
