Here's a question about pulling up Nik programs in CS5. I have the full suite of Nik plugins for Photoshop. I want to be able to assign a keystroke sequence to each of their mainstream plugins, so I don't have to click on 2-3 links to open each filter. I've tried creating an action with each. It opens the plugin but will not retain the layer associated with that plugin once I submit it. Has anyone had success in figuring this out? I don't want to keep the Nik window open in PS, as I don't have room for it in my screen. I prefer the keystroke sequences, or if there's a way to add an icon to the toolbar, that would work too!

Wick, I think I figured it out: go to Edit-->Keyboard Shortcuts, and twirl open the Filter menu items and scroll down to the bottom where the Nik stuff lives. Click on your effect and assign a keystroke there. I picked an obscure one that I figured wouldn't already exist: CTRL+ALT+F12. I assigned it to Silver Efex Pro, selected a layer in my open doc, hit the keys and up it came. The one bad thing is that you need a separate shortcut key for each Nik effect. But if you never use the predefined F keys with the CTRL key added, you could override what PS has them assigned to and make your own. For instance, CTRL+F7 could be Silver Efex, CTRL+F8 could be Color Efex, CTRL+F9 Viveza, etc, you get the idea. Give it a whirl and see how it works.
Once you're set up, then click the little floppy disk icon with the down arrow at the top of the window and save your keystroke set. You can always reload the default set if needed and then reload your custom keystrokes whenever you want.

Hope this is the solution you were after!
