Flagstaff Sunsets
The monsoon clouds and rains have finally reached northern Arizona, giving hope for nice sunset clouds.

#1 From Sunday night, a short trip from the house to the Kachina Wetlands gave a nice view of the San Francisco Peaks. While the clouds did not illuminate, the red rain was nice and put a nice reflection off the pond.

#2 Yesterday evening, Shane and I ventured to Mormon Lake to photograph some elk. That was a bust, but the lake bed was carpeted with yellow flowers and a vibrant rainbow.

#3 Taken with 300mm and 1.4tc, with a little motion from a breeze.

#4 With no cooperative elk, we went to Marshall Lake for the sunset as the clouds were tempting and promising. Marshall Lake is a shallow, reedy pond that occasionally goes dry. This is a little soft due to my focusing issue. Blend of two images for land and sky.

Wonderful set of photos! I like them all! But #4 might be my fave.

#2 is great, and I love the color gradient in #1. I also really like #4, but something about the peaks looks funny to me. A little too much dodging maybe? I'd say you can afford to lose some detail in there, and the shot will still hold up just fine.

Jackson, thanks for pointing that out. I went back to the original before the blend and the peaks are not as hazy/light as in the final product. Mount Elden looks about the same though. I did not do any dodging, but will darken the peaks.

Like the little bit of pink in the clouds in #4. Great rainbow as well.

'Bout time you got some of the monsoon down thataway, Doug!
Every one in this series are very, very good. My favorites are #'s 2 & 4. Would love to see a larger version of #2 as web size simply don't do that field of flowers any justice.
No nits from me...just pure enjoyment. Fine work, amigo!

Oh, Mommy on that first one. You made my colormeter go  The rest are just excellent.

Jackson, here is a revision with darker peaks blended in, and just a little overall brightening.
Thank you all for the feedback.
