Columbines in Mayflower Gulch
I went to Shrine Ridge and Mayflower gulch with my friends Paul and jason today. We left Denver at 2:00AM and hiked to the ridge for a pretty decent sunrise...I'l post something on those tomorrow. The ridge was fantastic with blues, yellows, reds, oranges....well worth the effort to get up there this week.

Later, we went to Mayflower Gulch and I got this columbine shot. The weather didn't give the best color but I still liked this shot. Took me a while to get up there and fell once..got soaking wet! Then a helicopter started circling overhead. I thought I had mistakenly activated my SPOT!!!

Let me know what you think.

Great shot regardless of the sky. The combination of the color in the moss rock and those pristine columbine is great.

The color might not be there in the sky or the peaks, but you've got great greens up front. A square crop and you've got yourself a pretty little scene.

That's a fine bouquet, and I agree with Mel about the crop, as the most interesting pats are the flowers and the rocks that surround them. and

Everything is there with the rocks, grass and flowers. CROP! You nailed it.

I saw a comp very similar from Art Escobodo recently. Were you guys shooting together? If not, just great minds thinking alike. Yeah, just fix the sky and you will have a huge wall hanger!
