After reading Richard Bernabe's review of the Tilopa backpack, I felt I had found what I had been looking for all these years. It turns out I was right. This is a fantastic product. With the large ICU all my camera gear (two bodies and two lenses plus filters, etc.) fits and there is room for lunch and a jacket, binoculars, bird guide. The design is well thought out and I like how almost everything opens from the rear of the pack-just take it off and you have easy access. The pack fits well. There was no problem getting it on the plane, even the small Horizon planes. The downside: the price. After reading Richard's article I placed an order at $295, but they were out of stock. By time stock arrived there was a newer model at $325. I just checked their website and the price is now $405. This is getting pretty spendy for a backpack and I'm afraid they might price themselves out of the market for us amateurs.
Yes at $405 I think even the pro will turn his nose up. I like the pack a lot but now if they have gone up that much looks like Ill keep kicking it old school.
