no flowers, no mountains
Just to take a break from flower season of plenty this year, I am posting a image taken in the Texas Hill Country which I have altered to a great degree through textures and various manipulations.I know most here are purist, and thats ok...just a little diversion now and again. CC alway welcome.

Guess I should post the original...I was trying to acheive a tapestry effect with this image. Took down the contrast and saturation as well as added a couple of textures in varying strengths. I always count on this group for the truth...which is of great value to growth as you know. Joe Rogers

Joe, I really like what you did with the PP, the texture is quite nice, and I like the slight desaturation of the colors. both give the image a great tone to it.

I agree with Joe, I love the effect. It's fun to let your inner artist run free sometimes.

I like it, Joe! Depends on your venue--the second would look better in a magazine, the first would make better wallpaper.

I think the first would look awesome on canvas -- I really like the effect as well.

Great effect in 1. Really lends an ageless quality to it.

Yes, I agree it is a great effect in 1. And 2 works equally well on another level.

What Mo' said. I like 'em both, and the effects you chose are perfect for this sort of scene.
You gonna print 'er up on canvas?

Thanks all for the feedback. Sometime when you start manipulating a print it's hard to step back from it and make any kind of valid judgement. That's when you need to bring in the troops. I sell a few things in a local gallery and there seems to be a market for artsy there....I will probably keep it a smaller size canvas or print on watercolor paper. Maybe do a straight version and hold it till the other one sells.

I like the texture a lot Joe. I am a purist of art...and since you are the artist and it was your vision, do what pleases you not others. But in this case, I have a feeling it will please many others as well. :toast:
