Holy cow, 95 views and no one pipes in. Seems like all those looking are wondering too, maybe.
I won't have a chance to make it up there this year, but hopefully someone who has been there recently will chime in. And Kory, be sure and check the wilflower sticky thread above the topic page. May be some info there.

Hi Kory - I was up in Crested Butte last weekend. We did a bit of scouting around Gothic Road and there are definitely some places with fresh flowers in that area if you are willing to spend some time searching them out. We had planned to spend some time up at Paradise Divide but had to change plans for a variety of reasons. during our brief stop at the top, we could see that the flowers up there (coming from the Slate River Road side) were pretty sparse. We did some off-trail hiking around Lost Lake and Lost Lake Slough (off Kebler Pass) and there were fields of incredible flowers, but not in the right places for good photographic options. Given the conditions at similar elevations, you might find some good options around Beckwith Pass (heading up the Cliff Creek Trail to the pass). One other challenge we encountered in a few places: the flowers were too high to easily photograph in many spots. We did not head up Washington Gulch Road but I did encounter some great fields of flowers there last year so it might be worth a stop, too. If you have any more questions, please feel free to shoot me an email. Have fun!

4 repliesHas anyone been to the CB area in the last few days? I'll be out there in 48 hours so just looking for a wildflower update.
Thanks
