Seems like most of us have been scurrying around the past few weeks trying to shoot what flowers we could. Now it is time to share.

Well, I already posted this in the forum but I still love this shot. Shrine Ridge is becoming my favorite location and this year it was the best I've seen yet.

Here's one from my hike over Pawnee Pass today, just above Pawnee Lake.

I can't get enough of Columbines! From Shrine Pass last Monday.

Great shots guys! This is an Arrowleaf Balsamroot plant. I was drawn to the large leaves. I did not place the flower as it was growing right out of the plant.

This primrose bouquet was along the trail to Columbine Lake in the Indian Peaks.
Dean, I think your Arrowleaf Balsamroot photo is great!

I was thinking of posting but you guys are killing it! Wonderful images everyone.

I should probably put up one more in thanks to Morris for directing me to Chicago Creek in one of his earlier posts. I had a fun afternoon getting down close to the ground and smelling the flowers.

Not exactly a mountain wildflower, but the prickly pear flowers were blooming in profusion around Canyonlands. Spectacular shots everyone!

A lot of great entries so far! Since I have not processed any of my wildflower images, sunflowers will have to do.

Wow, Sarah -- what a great shot!

As usual, quality entries!

Okay, here's another that's kind of interesting. This is basically just a grab shot of an unfamiliar plant that caught my eye up at timberline in Great Basin National Park. Later, when I was reading a bit about ecology of the park, I realized that it's a pretty nice specimen of Holgrem's buckwheat (Eriogonum holgrenii), and is found nowhere else besides the Snake Range.

Evening Primrose, shot right across the road from the Visitor Center at Island in the Sky, Canyonlands N.P.

Wildflowers aren't exactly the main subject here, but the photo wouldn't have happened without them! Yankee Boy Basin last year.

Here's one from the Texas Hill Country - prickly poppy with bluebonnets.
Really nice work here. I have to confess that, while I enjoy them and enjoy other people's photographs of them, I am just not good at photographing them myself.
Jeff and Sarah, though... man! Nice!

Arnica Dream
What a collection of images! Wow, folks!! Nice work this summer!
This one has a little backlight, selective DOF and some lucky wind action on a beautiful group of Heartleaf Arnica on Hornsilver Mountain.

Love the ethereal feel, Scott. Great work everyone. Looks like a bounteous summer.
Here's the first of my recent favorites. I like taking flower portraits but I've been wanting some nice columbine with great lichen covered rocks - now I have one (hopefully the first of many)

Next to good portrait candidates, I''m always looking for great bouquets of flowers, especially columbine.
Posted by Kalin Wilson on August 31, 2011 at 1:55 AM
Still, I love isolating a nice looking bloom in natural light.

Sorry, one more for good measure. I also love the symmetry of beautiful flowers. Did I mention I have a weakness for Columbine?

Really nice set of images. Lots of Columbines so I guess I better get mine in the mix. Shot this year about 100 yards past the town boundary near Gothic.

Here's one from last weekend near Hanksville. Found this dry wash absolutely filled with sunflowers and couldn't resist.

And one more from the same spot. Killer photos, all. Lots of amazing talent here in RMNP!

What a fun set to look through. Very nice photos.
I was liking the various columbine shots so much I thought I would add a favorite from my summer taken near Hartenstein Lake.

OK, I'll join this columbine fest.
Taken on the switchbacks to Upper Ice Lake basin. It was a great excuse to stop.

Here's a claret cup I shot this spring out on the Kokopelli trails. My husband is a pretty good scout while riding his mountain bike!

Bill, I've never seen any quite like those beauties!
I have become a huge fan of sagebrush flowers - maybe it's not only me
