I just got back from a trip with my cousins son to Shrine Pass, Canyonlands, Arches and Monument Valley. I'm sorting through a LOT of pictures, from what was the best trip I've had there to date.
While driving away from an early morning shoot, I came upon this scene, and couldn't pass it up. I don't know why I like it, but I do...

Was fortunate enough to have a chance to photograph this Western American iconic photo. The conditions at sunrise were awesome, and then in the distance we saw a storm heading our way. We waited it out, and I think we were amply rewarded.
Man talk about great timing! A double rainbow--plus theyre coming from both peaks--that's too cool, Bob!
I like the comp in #1 also, its nicely balanced and has a cool cloud--the sky color seems slightly off though--might make a nice B&W conversion...

I'm still editing the shots from the trip. The sunrise at Mesa Arch the morning we were there was the best I've seen. And, there were only six of us there, so we had plenty of room to move around and try different angles.

Very nice! Like the perspective and the rainbow in #2.

Two rainbows in one trip? And at amazing sandstone monoliths?! Almost too good to be true, but here's the proof. Great captures, Bob!
You've proven that this area is best photographed during the summer. Love the rays underneath Mesa Arch in the second version, too. Sure looking forward to seeing more from your trip!

Do you mean Monument Valley or Valley of the Gods?

Bob: Not sure about your question, but we were in Monument Valley... we passed by the Valley of the Gods, but didn't stop there.

Sandstone and rainbows... what a combo! I like the first one as well Bob.
