Hiked up to Lake Isabelle for sunrise today, and then continued over the pass to Pawnee Lake. The wildflowers on the west side were really going! Here's a shot of some of the columbines just above Pawnee Lake, with more from the hike here. I was nervous about going all the way over the pass and back, and the climb out just about did me in, but the wildflower display made it all worth it!
Beautiful columbine meadow here. I think I would like to see more DOF with such a wide angle of view. Otherwise this is nicely composed with beautiful color that portrays the fantastic beauty of this place.
Sounds like a cool hike! I like the DOF here, personally.

Great display of columbines here Chris! Question for you...are there any places on this trail where I could catch some columbines with good mountain backdrops? I was gonna go back to Mayflower gulch but this looks pretty promising.

I really like your composition Chris. The pattern of flowers is really nice.

Thanks for the comments so far everyone. Jack - I'm sure there are possibilities for comps with mountain backdrops. It would be best in the afternoon/evening with the sun at your back, illuminating the peaks. Probably best to backpack in as you're several miles from either trailhead at Pawnee Lake, but there were several great looking campsites.

Nice shot. Great color as well. I was mountain biking yesterday around Butler Gulch and saw quite a few columbines as well.

What an excellent series of images! No clear favorites...I like each and every one of these. Congratulations on your trek. The results were well worth the effort.
