I recently purchased a print through Aspen Creek Photo and was pleased with their service and the print looked great. I would definitely recommend them especially for the enthusiast photographer on a budget.
I placed my order using their ROES software. There was a problem with the transmission of the order (probably first time user error!!) but after I e-mailed them to confirm that the order was processed they promptly took care of the issue and filled my order. They honored the sale price that was in place when I placed the order but had lapsed a few days later when I followed up with the order. Overall, despite the problem transmitting the order my experience was very positive. Once they shipped the order it came with about 2-3 days from California to Amarillo, TX. I think the order transmission problem must have been an isolated event.
The print itself looks great and is exactly what I expected. The color matches very closely to what I saw on my monitor. According to their website, they use ICC color profiles throughout their printing process to ensure color accuracy.
Aspen Creek also offers affordable pricing for those on a budget. I purchased a 16 X 24" print. It is regularly priced at $19.99 but I got it on sale for only $12.99. They have special offers every week so if you are not in a hurry you can get a great deal by waiting a little while.
For those wanting a professional lab I'm sure West Coast Imaging would be the better choice. But if you are an enthusiast photographer wanting professional quality results at a more affordable price I don't think you can go wrong with Aspen Creek. I will definitely continue to use them for my future printing needs.
