One of my favorite styles of images is to attempt to give the viewer the impression that they are peeking into a secret place in nature. I few years ago I shifted away from that in an effort to expand my skills and interest.

Well, I've started to return to that to see if I can apply what I've learned over the last few years to that style.

I'm not real happy with the framing on this one, but does illustrate what I'm going for.

Any advice for improving my framing techniques would be much appreciated, as well as any other feedback...

Neat, and it's particularly neat how this unfolds as one scrolls down from the top of the page!

Curtis, this is a nice technique. A frame within the frame. I think it works well here.

That bottom branch is killing it for me. Withou a bottom third a nice photo.

Curtis,
I agree with Thomas about the bottom branch. Otherwise a very cool image.

Thanks for the comments folks. I'm still undecided about the offending branch. I'm leaning toward cropping it out or going back for a retake, but I also think it might have worked better if it had been within the DOF, and a little fill flash were used...

Maybe I should take the chainsaw next time... JUST KIDDING! :jump:
