Had a lot of dirt on the sensor of my Nikon D700 from recent outings that resisted my efforts to remove so I took it to Craig at Front Range Camera Repair here in Steamboat (he moved here from Denver some years ago to more entirely enjoy our active recreational lifestyle). Besides getting a professional cleaning and that I highly recommend him (unsolicited) for any repair work, I learned something about how dust gets to your camera's sensor---through the CF Card opening---which Craig says is just as likely as taking the lens off of the camera. Duh! I had no idea so I'm going to be a lot more careful when changing cards.

Didn't think about that myself. Thanks for pointing it out.

Thanks for the tip, Rod. I never thought about the CF card opening as a gateway to the sensor for dust.
