After Ice Lake and Island Lake, I decided to make the detour over to Bullion King Lake. After an interesting drive on the trail up there at dusk we set up camp in the dark. We headed up to the lake before dawn, but unfortunately the clouds weren't cooperating. I did manage a few shots of the ridge line catching the first light. First shot is the moon/sun rise over the San Juans. I'm not sure which of the other shots I prefer.

Nice, Paul! That drive must have been fun
I think 2,3 could use a slight contrast boost.
Nice Paul, and it's nice to see an unusual location. The shapes of that lakeshore are wonderful, and the ridge is pretty killer too. I think I prefer the third, where the light's a little further along than in #2. And I agree with Stan about the contrast, maybe some dodging of the foreground promotories as well.

Thanks for the suggestions, gents!

I like the simplicity of #1, but would be tempted to crop out about 1/3 the FG...also like the comp on #2 quite a bit.

Thanks, Kurt -- I'll tinker with some crops and see what it looks like.
