Just got back from a marathon night in the dunes. I was hoping to catch some Perseids, unfortunately the moon was so bright and high clouds interfered with the shower. But i did catch these guys over the dunes. I saw a great orange fireball too--unfortunately my camera was aimed at a sunflower at that time... But i did get some good sunflower shots!
Beautiful series Stan.
You need to come up to Longmont for some real Sunflowers.

Stan, great catch on the shooting stars! You are correct on the moon, if was really bright on Friday night! I was hoping to catch a few shooting stars in Mayflower Gulch but the moon rose right over the peaks at sunset!

Stan, Nice set on your blog from your overnight on the dunes, Preference to #7 and the second abstract.

I think that the best images in this series are those without the flowers (except for 'A Star Is Born').
I'm just not a big fan of these spindly weeds.

Damn, damn, damn!!! Just some incredible stuff Stan! I solve the post, but that first vertical shot of the sunflower when you re-visited at sunrise is off the charts awesome! Of course all the abstract shots are fantastic as well.
I went out to try to get some. Some of the most frustrating time I have ever spent as a photographer. Never got a single one! The whole collection is just too cool!
