Peace In The Valley
I sat by the edge of this little pond for almost 2 hours the night before last. Here I was, 11,000 feet and nobody else around. While waiting for the light it gave me a chance to reflect on my future and what plans God has for me and my wife. There is a very good chance that we will be moving back east next year and I will greatly miss seeing scenes like this. I'm planning on getting out and shooting as much as possible to create some remarkable memories.

I'm not trying to pat myself on the back here but I do believe this is one of the best captures I've made since I began shooting 6 years ago, The light was perfect, the wind was still for just a minute to create the mirror reflection. I want to thank Tony L. for being so kind as to share this location with me. Because of the willingness of some of the members of this forum to share locations either publicly or privately through emails, I've been able to see and capture places that will remain with me forever. Thanks. This isn't a farewell..there is plenty more to do in the next year or so.

Hi Jack, You've been getting out a lot lately! I can certainly feel your peaceful moment with this image. I think the color, comp looks really nice. Maybe its my monitor, but there seems to be some haloing above the Fletcher/Atlantic ridge that doesn't quite match up with the reflection? Not sure that it really matters, just something my eye caught early on. Looking forward to many more shots.

Mountains, summertime, wildflowers, ponds, what else could a person want? Beautiful scene.

This does have a feel of a quiet moment. I like the burgundy glow on the mountain

How did I miss this one? One of the rare times I can say that I love that blue sky!
Actually, the whole image is superb and is indeed one of your best (..so far).
I can well imagine sitting here for a couple of hours waiting on the light and contemplating life.
I hope you make a big print and hang it proudly, Jack. I know I would!
