Need help with Adobe Camera Raw

I read that Elements 9 comes with Adobe Camera Raw. I have Elements 9 but I don't see Camera Raw anywhere in the program and I can't find any reference to it. If I have it, how can I access it? Thanks for any help or info.

ACR should open when you try to open a raw file with Elements. If you are on a Mac just drag a raw file to the PS Elements icon in the Dock and the ACR module will open the file.

Richard, I'm on a PC. When I try to open a raw file in Elements, Canon Raw 6.3 opens. This program came with my Canon camera. Maybe I have to uninstall this for ACR to open?

That would be a good idea if Elements is choosing that app. to convert your RAW images.

Of course another method would have been to go (on the PC) where you tell it to use which application to open which files and select what you want to open the RAW files. Think that is a method! Sorry, I am a Mac user, but both have these capabilities.

Barb,

I use the Digital Professional Photo which came with my Canon camera, I prefer it over PhotoShop ARC raw, for the first round of processing.

Troup and John, thanks for the advice. John, I'll probably try ARC and Digital Photo Professional to see which one I like better.

Just to clarify things, it was my mistake! When ACR opened it said "Camera Raw 6.3-Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi" Since it said the name of my Canon camera I thought it was the Canon Program. Everything is working fine and I didn't uninstall Canon DPP, so I can use either program. Thanks again, everyone, for your help.
