Phillip Noll scored the editor's Weekly Pick in the Weekly Challenge for this amazing capture at the Grand Canyon
titled 'Evening Thunderstorm'.
Lord knows why this wasn't posted in the Landscape gallery, but you have got to check it out!
One of the most dramatic G. C. images ever.

Congrats, Phil! That was an amazing evening at the canyon. I still haven't had an opportunity to develop my photos. Receiving the Weekly Pick award is a well deserved honor. :toast:

Thanks everyone! :smile: It was indeed an amazing evening. We had several amazing evenings the week we were there (more photos to come). I must admit that I am not really all that satisfied with the way the image looks as posted in the WC Gallery. I keep trying to get it to match the image I have in my head but I keep failing. Perhaps I'm at the limits of my post processing skills or my vision is unrealistic.:confused: In any event, I'll keep tweaking it and when I have it where I like it, I'll post it here to get your input. :smile:

Incredible image Phil! I love the simple comp, the beautifully saturated colors and, of course, the well placed lightning bolt :cool: Congrats on a very well deserved EP!

Wow, Phil, that image is incredible. The deep colors, lightning, and great composition all come together to create a really stunning image.

I thought the same thing as John about why that wasn't in Landscape. It had potential for image of the month and maybe an EPA. Still big congrats for the EP! Well deserved, and I knew it had to win the first time I saw it. Incredible image! :toast:
