This is a 4 image stitch from near the top of Kendall Mtn in Silverton. I went with B&W because the early afternoon light wasn't great, but I loved the clouds building over the peaks. Does it work? Suggestions appreciated.
This works really well as a b&w, Paul. If it were mine, I'd be tempted to darken the sky a bit for a little added drama. Gorgeous view.

Thanks Bret -- I did a little selective burning but I can certainly see where I could do a little more to add a bit more dramatic effect. I think it also looks a little better in full size form, but that's a given.

This is a great view. I have wanted to get up to this location but my last attempt was thwarted by a ridiculous mistake - not checking my gas gauge before I left Silverton. Anyway, I really like this pano - it really tells the story of this rugged part of the state. I agree with Bret that more contrast and drama in the sky could add something to this shot.

Gorgeous mtn. scene and very nice clouds! Agree with the others about the sky. Would love to see a large print of this!

Really like the second edition in BW, clouds are much better and since they are what is really making this image stand out, it definitely worth the effort.

The B&W repost seems better to me, very nice. The color is pretty cool, but not as cool as the B&W
Looking at the comp, the image weighs heavily on the clouds and for good reason, the clouds here are stunning. The mountains throughout the image are good ones however my eye is drawn to the not so inspiring peaks inbetween the awesome Arrow and Storm Peak (Grenadiers) on the far left, and the equally awesome Pigeon, Animas, and Eolus Massif (Needles) on the far right. Thus it seems too long of a pano. Considering the clouds are excellent throughout the image, I would love to see a crop of just the Needles Mountains. Just my 2 cents!
Grat job of discovering such beauty.

Great pano, Paul! The clouds in the repost are great. I need to look up this location!

Thanks, Jeff & Don. Thanks for the suggestion, Kane -- I will have to play around with different crops and see what I can come up with. Kalin, I saw D. Kilgore's trail report on his site and figured it would be worth a look.

I'm partial to the color version here. I just love the lush green of the foreground slopes as a lead-in.

Great Pano and like both the color and BW--little partial to the B&W.
Nice stuff!

Thanks, Todd -- I did a little selective dodging to try and get those greens to pop a bit. Thanks, Lynn!
