Late Wildflowers
I spent a few days last week August 11-14th in the Park and Summit County area. Here is a bunch of paintbrush I found hiking to Lake Emma. It was great to escape the 112 degree days back in Arkansas and take a few photos.

Here is a link to a few more, thank for looking: http://www.tomkennonphotography.com/gallery.php?gallery=summer2011

Tom, that's a beautiful shot. Have you considered a tighter crop to give image more impact?

Some nice stuff! Just a couple comments...I think the double exposure of the moon needs more work, as it's not looking very real to me...also, I might recommend cropping off a bit of the right edge of "Wildflower Detail" to get rid of distracting elements unrelated to the rest of the shot.

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions Howard and Grant. Here is a tighter crop of the paintbrush it seems to work better. I could actually crop this even tighter? Let me know if you think I should.

Grant, I have struggled somewhat with the blends of the moon, but I have deleted the original shot in my gallery and replaced it with one that seems to work better. In the new version the moon is the exact size as it appeared in the raw file and I have worked on the light and edges with the refine edge option. Please let me know if this works any better or any suggestions that you may have.

Looks like a productive trip, Tom. I like the repost better as its more cohesive. It's nice to escape the heat & humidity in the mountains, isn't it?

Great color. Like the different shades of green in the image as well.

Tom, that crop's a definite improvement, but I think you still go tighter. It isn't necessary to include every blossom.

I like the cropped version, but think you could lose a bit more from the top. Nowhere else, though.
Real nice muted colors! Great set on your site, as well. My favorites are 'Wildflower Detail' (pg. 1) and 'Columbines Near Lake Emma' (second version). A very beautiful and productive 4 days!
