I've been meaning to draw attention to some of the wonderful photography on the Man & Nature gallery for some time. Given the recent thread about M&N I thought it would be a good time to point out some of the great work that has made picking out a weekly selection difficult.
I also wanted to point out that there are guidelines for this gallery. I see a lot of travel and personal shots that don't really fit the criteria. I've been a little more flexible about these but keep in mind that if the image does not fit the guidelines, it won't be considered for the editor's pick.
Man & Nature Gallery - Landscapes, seascapes, or rural scenes that contain evidence of hand-of-man (HOM) such as a path, crops and domesticated animals. People and/or man-made structures may be part of the scene but not exceed 25% of total area of the frame.
I've not included EP's among this listing but thought that these are some good examples of what M&N are about.

I looked at each of those images and enjoyed every one, even though there's not many birds in the whole lot! I get so ensconced in Avian that I don't even think of "spreading my wings" when the opportunity presents itself. Gonna try to change my ways...

Kah Kit: Good on you for highlighting the M & N gallery and these specific images especially. I like images that have the human touch to them although there are few opportunities for that in Flora. I hope you and Eva keep promoting the gallery. >=))>

Kah Kit:
Really enjoyed those images - they are fabulous. It is pity that some members feel that M&N is the poor cousin of Landscape.
Wow. I would say these images would be top quality in any list or collection. Thank you for posting all the links.

There could be no better reason to click on "all photos" when coming to NPN. Thanks much for doing this Kah Kit.

Thanks for posting this Kah Kit. These are great examples of the excellent work posted in the M&N gallery which indeed make it very difficult to pick just one for the EP. I am also glad you have reiterated the posting guidelines for the M&N gallery since I have received a few e-mails asking what they are or can they be relaxed. Your explanation is very clear and hope that helps everyone.

Really fine exemplars. Thanks for putting this together.
...and these were not EP's....wow! Really enjoyed these. Thanks, KK for sharing and always anticipate seeing your photos Esp appreciate your efforts to guide and comment.
Seems to me...we're seeing a lot quality in many galleries this August. What a great site!
