Did a quick trip to Valhalla Lake today. Located near Stevens Pass, a short hike from Smithbrook Trailhead. This is the view looking east. What this place needs is a stunning sunrise.
Brrrr. Looks cold. Good scenic possibilities, though, with that perfect, stunning sunrise…. Nice comp on this, and it looks good in the square format.

I like the composition Ken, everything is framed nicely. Perfect exposure on the sky is this a single exposure?

This is a sweet comp, and nice as is. I can't help agreeing that a sunrise would give it that something special.

Hi Bruce, this is a composite of three photos. I shot the top, middle, and foreground...then blended in photomerge using CS3. Although the 14mm is wide...it was not wide enough on the D300 (1.5x). I did not blend for exposure...the clouds kept the tonal range tolerable. That's a tongue twister....
