The 2011 International Photography Awards have announced the winners of this year's competition, and I'm proud to announce that I won 1st Prize in the Nature/Wildlife category for my series "Japanese Macaques", for which I was also awarded the title Nature Photographer of the Year 2011.
I also won 2nd Price in the People/Culture category for my entry "Libya".
As a main category winner, I will compete for IPA's top award of International Photographer of the Year and a cash prize of $10,000. Wish me luck.
I was happy to see some fellow NPN-ers that got awarded as well; Rafael Rojas won 1st price in the Nature/Sunset category and 2nd price in the Nature/Other category. Vincent Grafhorst won 3rd price in the Nature/Landscapes. Anil Rao won 3rd price in the non-pro Nature/Other category (I hope I didn't forget anyone). Congratulations to all of you.
A great thank you to Jim for starting this great community, to all the mods for their hard work, and to everyone else here for the valuable feedback and inspiration.
Congratulations Marsel (and the rest)! Very well deserved . . . even amongst the other fine work recognized in the awards, yours stands out. I notice that Emmanuel Coupe, another NPN member, also shows up frequently in the awards with some images that I recognize from posts on NPN.

Marsel: Congratulations!! that is really fantastic. Your work is truly inspiring. I always enjoy seeing it. Congrats to all of the NPN members who did so well. What a great showing.
